Talent Can Start at a REALLY Young Age
This absolutely freaks me out. There is already a lot of great talent out there and then the performers get younger and younger.
If you just watch the video I just posted, you will understand. Here are young talents who already have their identities in their business and act as though they are so much older.
I remember when Britney Spears and Christina came out. I remember thinking - crap, they are around my age! I started to look at where they were in their careers and compare them to mine.
In all truths, I had a long way to go artistically before I could get to that level. As artists, we are always growing, … now I am ready. 10 years later, I am finally confidently saying I am ready to make it big as an artist.
… but then I see these insane youths pull off things with their bodies or their voices and I am fully blown away.
It wasn’t until my final years in high school when I discovered singing as a possible profession. It then took me 5 years in college to train to get to an adequate level as a vocalist. Since then, I have continued to grow through constant lessons and practice. But then, that still puts me behind these young people who break into the industry and become famous. Yes, I totally hate them (j/k).
I could understand how much this could frustrate a person. We are “supposed” to ask ourselves what it is we can bring to the table that is so different than any other performer … when you are a really young talent - the fact that you are so young can sometimes give you a good leg up.
Am I wrong? Your thoughts?
