Breaking on Stage

by

Damn it! That is all I have to say about that. I walked in late in our first dress rehearsal to a scene. The timing when I came in was simultaneous with a dramatic entrance that I was supposed to react to … since it was so awkward and wrong, I broke into Jenna laughter. Damn it. I didn’t mean to be goofing off, it was just funny to me. It probably wasn’t such a huge deal, but once I am on the stage, I like to always be “on” and that just really didn’t happen for me at that moment. So, now I am re-hashing the mistake I made on stage. I know there is nothing I can do about it now and I now it’s not such a big deal. We both fell out of character cause it was just so awkward. We continued on with the scene rather quickly and it went well … until … the scene change didn’t happen and we were stuck making out on stage. This all happened in the second act of our first dress rehearsal. I wanted it to be a smooth run, but you know how one ball drops and then other small things go wrong. Nothing was too huge, but big enough for me to wanna say “fuck!”
In the end, I suppose the laughter shows I was in a positive state to handle things rather than a negative state. But still … I hope one day to not be affected by those things even if it is our first dress rehearsal.
